10/17/2019 Site Recovery Updated Features Operating system updates to the Windows servicing stack and SHA-2 are required for some Azure VMs and on-premises VMware VMs/physical servers replicating to Azure for disaster recovery. The updates are needed from version 9.30.xx (expected to be released early November 2019) of the Mobility service extension (Azure VMs) and Mobility service agent (VMware VMs/physical servers). SHA-1 is no longer supported, and if SHA-2 code signing isn't enabled, the extension/agent won't install or update as needed. Link Link Details
9/4/2019 Azure Stack General Availability Diagnostic log collection is now generally available for Azure Stack. The Azure Stack diagnostic log collection service provides a simplified way for Azure Stack operators to collect and share diagnostic logs with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS). A new user experience in the Azure Stack administrator portal is available for operators to set up the automatic upload of diagnostic logs to a storage blob when certain critical alerts are raised, or to perform the same operation on demand. 7/23/2019 Azure Stack Marketplace Update Thales now offers their CipherTrust Cloud Key Manager solution through the Azure Stack Marketplace that works with Azure and Azure Stack “Bring Your Own Key” (BYOK) APIs to enable such key control. Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 is now available through Azure Stack Marketplace making to possible to protect both Windows and Linux-based workloads running in the cloud from one centrally managed console. The VM-Series next-generation firewall from Palo Alto Networks allows customers to securely migrate their applications and data to Azure Stack, protecting them from known and unknown threats with application whitelisting and threat prevention policies. Bitnami applications can be found on the Azure Stack Marketplace and can easily be launched directly on your Azure Stack platform. ThingWorx runs on top of Microsoft Azure or Azure Stack, and leverages Azure PAAS to bring best in class IIoT solution to the manufacturing environment. Deploying ThingWorx on Azure Stack enables you to bring your cloud-based industry 4.0 solution to the factory floor. With the private preview of Iot Hub in Azure Stack, we are very excited to see our customers and partners creating solutions that perform data collection and AI inferencing in the field. 3/26/2019 Azure Stack New Features Today, we are pleased to announce Azure Stack HCI solutions are available for customers who want to run virtualized applications on modern hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) to lower costs and improve performance. Azure Stack HCI solutions feature the same software-defined compute, storage, and networking software as Azure Stack, and can integrate with Azure for hybrid capabilities such as cloud-based backup, site recovery, monitoring, and more. 12/3/2018 SQL Database Retiring Features Azure Resource Manager is our cloud infrastructure stack that fully replaces the classic Azure Service Manager deployment model. As a result, support for Service Manager REST APIs for Azure SQL Database will be retired on December 1, 2019. As with all changes of this type, we’re providing 12 months’ notice so you have adequate time to update your services that use Service Manager APIs for SQL Database to Resource Manager APIs.
